Tapestry is our gift to Athens each December, and it has been part of the local holiday season since the chorus began. The program is a mix of holiday favorites, and we share the afternoon with other performing groups from around the area — over the years those have included the Athens Recorder Ensemble, choral groups from Oconee High School, handbell ensembles, and various duet and trio ensembles.

Bring whoever you like. There is no ticket and no charge. If you want to help keep it that way, there is a donation basket at the door, and a page here that explains the other ways to give.

Our two seasons

What a year of singing looks like

Autumn into December

Rehearsals start in early September and build towards Tapestry. The repertoire is holiday music, shared with guest ensembles from around Athens.

Concert: early December, free.

Spring

Each spring the chorus takes on a theme. Past programs have ranged across 1960s pop, opera, musical theatre, folk songs from other countries, work by local composers, and the occasional number with kazoos.

Concert: late spring.
